Elliptical Birefringent Rib?Channel Chirowaveguides for Quasicircularly Polarized Light Applications in Integrated Photonics

Polarization in photonic-integrated circuits (PICs) is governed by transverse electric (TE) and magnetic (TM) polarizations due to the planar structure of chips. Therefore, all states polarization (SOPs) other than TE TM, particular circular polarization, cannot be routed without modification across Herein, realization rib-channel chirowaveguides supporting elliptically polarized guided modes combining linear birefringences as predicted coupled mode approach shown. The sol–gel process imprint technique make channel with different sizes consequently modulate ellipticity eigenmodes from quasicircular are used. Circularly light propagates therefore a low beating handedness inversion. These results open field application PICs domains where circularly relevant.
